Annual Faculty Review Process

The following information relates to the use of Faculty Profile in the Annual Faculty Review process.

Deadlines

The University recommends that each college completes the Annual Faculty Reviews by March 31. Colleges set the deadlines for their own faculty.

Faculty’s Role

The University asks all faculty to complete the following items before the annual review:

  1. Record their professional activities for this past year on the appropriate Faculty Profile screens (General, Teaching, Scholarship, and Citizenship).
  2. Update their vita and then upload it into the Annual Review Preparation and Documents Archive screen.
  3. Complete the Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Time Commitment screen.
  4. Complete the Annual Review Preparation and Documents Archive screen.

Administrator’s Role

  1. Communicate college deadlines and any customized procedures to faculty.
  2. Print the Annual Activity Report for each faculty member in preparation for the interviews. This is typically done at the department level. See instructions below.

Printing the Annual Activity Reports

The Annual Activity Reports contain:

  1. All faculty activities from the year that has just ended.
  2. Goals the faculty member set for the new year.
  3. A report of the faculty member’s completion of the Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Time Commitment form.

To print these reports:

  1. Open Faculty Profile
  2. Go to Reports (top menu bar)
  3. Step 1: Choose between Annual Activity Report Complete Detail or Annual Activity Report Vita. (Both reports contain all of the faculty member’s activities, but the Complete Detail report includes a list of all the fields on each screen, regardless of whether there is data in each field.)
  4. Step 2: For the Date Range of the report, enter the year in which the annual review is taking place (usually the default value).
  5. Step 3: If you don’t wish to include all your faculty, use the “Change selection” link to choose which faculty to include.
  6. Step 4: If desired, change the file format and/or page size.
  7. Click Run Report.
